travel canada yukon territory carcross
Carcross is a small, tourist-oriented, town in Canada's Yukon Territory that once played a big part in Alaskan history... both the Alaskan gold rush and WWII.
Since our visit in 2012, a whole new little center of shops has been added to appeal to the tourist trade that comes mainly for the White Pass and Yukon Route RR.
The town is located on the end of Bennet Lake where gold miners who had hiked in from Skagway tried to find a boat ride to the Klondike gold fields.
Its a simple town. Grab some good gelato, relax, and accept it for what it is.
